La Hacienda
A LITTLE ABOUT US
Growing up in Ocotlan Jalisco Mexico, La Hacienda’s Sandra Lennox remembers the intriguing, sweet and savoury scents of her mother’s cooking and the feasts (for the taste buds and for the eyes) that came out of her grandmother’s kitchen.
For the past eight years, Sandra and Mexican chef Julio have graced local restaurant patrons with Mexican food prepared in the traditional way, including: fresh guacamole,long-soaked beans, broths and soups from scratch, and only 100% corn tortillas.
Understanding the value of serving the freshest produce available, in season La Hacienda salad features Roma tomatoes, onions, cilantro, carrots and beets from local growers. Their exquisite margaritas are made with fresh squeezed juices, sometimes even with local berries picked by Sandra and her children.
Along with cactus and other high quality products from Mexico, guests enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and ambience of La Hacienda – a little piece of Mexico in the heart of downtown Peterborough.

I just had lunch here with three friends who had never eaten at La Hacienda before – we were all impressed! Love the Sopa Azteca…beautifully presented and delicious.
Felt like I just made a return visit to Mexico. Loved the margaritas, the food and the ambiance.
I ate on the patio at La Hacienda in Peterborough… The sun was shining… the service was friendly and swift… I ended up having the enchiladas even though I’m a traditional taco lover but the waitress convinced me they were a house speciality. They were indeed pretty good… YUM. The chips and salsa were also top notch. Wouldn’t hesitate to return. viva la Mexico!
I enjoyed lunch on the patio at La Hacienda. I’ve been many times and always enjoyed the authentic cuisine. This time I tried the burrito. It was delicious and HUGE. I was able to enjoy half and take half home. The salsa and guacamole is worth visiting for alone!
I’ve had lunch at La Hacienda a few times, and everytime I’ve been I’ve enjoyed something different. The food is delicious and the portions are great.
